My Client Said...

It's like a box of chocolates

My client, who is retired from the Navy, took his 17 yr old. daughter to visit the campus of Notre Dame in 1999. They decided to go the the football game before touring because Notre Dame was playing Navy. At the end of the game, he felt as though Notre Dame won unfairly and was furious. His daughter asked him if Notre Dame was still a possibility for her. He said she could go, but not a dime of his money would pay for it! She ended up at Vanderbilt. Fast forward to 2006, my clients’ company offers to pay for his MBA if he goes to Notre Dame. He calls his daughter to tell her and braces himself for her reaction. There is a long silence at first and then she says “Not a dime of my money will pay for it!”
